G&L has introduced the L-2500 Series 750 bass, marking its first five-string model to have a 19mm string gap at the bridge. As such, it features a new “5-wide” Saddle Lock bridge to create a wider, more traditional string spacing normally found on four-string basses.
The bass also has a new body that is based on classic Fender Avenue shapes, states G&L. “The 750 Series is a new model, but classic Fender Avenue details are everywhere. The CLF / G & L headstock flows into a slim, rounded neck profile supported by a double-action truss rod and twin graphite reinforcing rods. Authentic 1980s cues continue with CLF machined knobs, color-coded toggle switches round out the late ’70s to early’ 80s Fender Avenue vibes.
All of those standard features apply to four versions: Blueburst on Swamp Ash with maple fingerboard, Tobacco Sunburst on okoume with Caribbean Rosewood fingerboard, Ruby Red Metallic on basswood with Caribbean Rosewood fingerboard, and Tangerine Metallic on basswood with Caribbean Rosewood fingerboard.
The 750 Series mounts a pair of Leo Fender-designed MFD humbuckers.
The hardware is a Custom G&L Ultra-Lite headstock and the bridge a G&L Saddle_lock.
